You're on CE, people here will post contrarian nonsense just for the hell of it. Yes, Lincoln was a racist. This has been known literally since he was alive. But he wasn't an angry racist who wanted blacks enslaved or killed, he was more of a separatist (not the "we want a white nation" type we have nowadays.) He didn't want to do anything that would make Southerners antsy about his intentions toward slavery (that didn't work), and even after the Civil War began, he didn't try to do anything about slavery until he needed to (the timing of the Emancipation Proclamation wasn't an accident; he knew it would prevent England or France from 'coming to the rescue' of the Confederacy). But still, he didn't do anything just because he wanted blacks to have equal rights, he did it because he felt slavery was an unnecessary evil and a negative to America's international prestige.

I don't get why people always say Manshep is 'boring' as if it's some kind of inside joke. It's literally the same dialogue and the same actions as Femshep.

If it's about the delivery, still no. Meer does his job perfectly fine. Keeps his voice neutral and professional, which is what you'd expect considering his background as a decorated soldier. If anything, Hale's Femshep is a tad too emotional at times. You can complain it's flat, but it's not too bland or going so far as to ruin what he's saying. He's still capable of a decent sarcastic voice too IMO.

The only case this argument would make sense is when you're pursuing the romance sidequests, because of course it makes sense to be emotional here. Manshep's lines during the romances are somewhat stony and therefore funny, so I'll concede that, but the romance dialogues aren't everything.

He does get better at displaying emotions as the series progresses, though, so there's something in that. You could also chalk that up to character development in a way: In the beginning of the series he's all professional because he's working with people he's never seen before in his life(minus Kaidan, and even then it's implied they haven't been serving alongside each other for long). Come the third game, he's developed a through-death-and-out-together kind of companionship with his squadmates and after the kind of hell he's been going through over the series, his emotional barriers are cracking.

I think a lot if people gave up on Meer after ME1, and he's just kinda meh in that one. In particular, with Renegade options it seemed like he thought "louder" equalled "angrier". He was definitely better in 2, and I'd actually put his performance in 3 on part with Hale's.

Still, I'll always appreciate one line of his in ME1: I'd been stringing Ashley and Liara along, and (for those who don't know) if you do that, eventually they show up at the same time and force you to choose between them. One of BroShep's lines as they argue is "I love it when women fight over me", and he sounded like such a colossal douche that I damn near cried laughing.

Retail workers aren't thin skinned. You put up with a lot of shit in those jobs and some us hold on to them for years, all for comparatively little reward. That's basically the polar opposite of 'thin skin.'
